Last and final push for Sandakphu and get good mountain scenery at its place. This would be another camp night for us above the Sandakphu.

It’s a pretty tough trip from Kalapokhri to Sandakphu, finally rewarding itself with the great views since you reach trek height at 3,650 m of Sandakphu. At this spot, one gets to enjoy excellent views of Kanchenjunga, Everest, Makalu, and Lhotse peaks. Camp or lodge for the day to spend your time for wonderful views of sun setting behind those peaks.

Day 5Sandakphu to Phalut

Distance: 21 km

Elevation gain: Gently descent from Sandakphu at 3,650m to Phalut at 3,600 m

Highlights: Extended vistas along the Singalila Ridge, solitude at Phalut, beautiful vistas

A moderately longer trek with leveled path along Singalila Ridge. All along this long stretch of the trek, excellent views of the Himalayas can be taken in. Phalut being relatively quieter and less populated than Sandakphu, it is perfect for a quiet reflective session or photogenic. Overnight Stay would be possible through trekkers’ huts available in Phalut, else one could pitch up at the assigned place.

Day 6Phalut to Gorkhey

Distance: 15 km

Elevation Loss: Phalut: 3,600 m to Gorkhey: 2,200 m

Highlights: It is a steep descent amidst alpine forests and quaint Gorkhey village appeal.

From Phalut, the trail leads down to Gorkhey through some of the most beautiful forests of rhododendron, pines, and magnolias. Gorkhey is in a valley surrounded on its sides with gentle slopes, where the villagers have their homesteads, and this valley has a lovely flowing river running through it to make the rest stop perfect after long days of trekking. The rest can be found at homes or small lodges as night stops.

Day 7Gorkhey to Srikhola

Distance: 12 km

Altitude loss: Gorkhey 2,200 m; Srikhola 1,950 m

The final day of the trek is the beautiful forest path leading you to Srikhola. The banks and rich forests offer a quiet time, which is exactly how the trek ends – quite quietly. At Srikhola, you may stay at a campsite or even at a guesthouse.
