Discover a wonderful hiking experience while visiting Oregon. Over 8,800 acres of protected state forest encompassing the watershed birthplace of ancient Silver Creek. Breathtaking waterfalls in an historic forest ecosystem. Trails that follow the native critters' tracks. Old growth at every turn. The llamas really made the hike a super experience-- especially for the kids.
Stats: Day use fee to the park is $3.00. The llamas rent starting at $25.00 per llama for 3 hours, $45.00 for 6 hours, $65.00 for the day, approx. 9 hours. (1996 rates.)
Getting There: Starting from Salem, Oregon, follow routes east to hwy 22, then to hwy 214 east, Silver Falls Highway, about 15 miles to Silver Falls State Park. Visit the South Falls Lodge for directions to parking lot, where the llama trail starts.
