Pinnacle is a short hike- less than 2 miles- with a little over a thousand foot gain. But the views make it well worth it for a short day hike.
We were in the park on a beautiful weekend, hence the crowds near the usual sights on the south side where somewhat bothersome. Pinnacle, however, was barren.
The trail takes you through some great meadows with awesome views into the Nisqually Glacier. The last half mile is not for the faint of heart- many switchbacks with lots of exposure. The end of the trail is the saddle below Pinnacle, and walks you up to a breathtaking view of Mt. Adams.
