Northwest Hiking Trails

Middle Sister (Summit)

Trip report by: Jade

"I would definitely recommend this trip to a friend."

This was a beautiful hike. I'd read stories saying that the hike from Pole Creek trailhead to Camp Lake was miserable and dusty, but I disagree. The forest was fill with pines, flowers, and interesting rock formations. Camp Lake was beautiful and clear and I rarely saw any bugs. We found a perfect spot to camp, woke up at 5:30 the next morning and hiked to the summit. The hike to the summit took about 4.5 hours and it was gorgeous weather on top. There were a few times where we found a trail to follow but many times we had to scramble over big boulders and smaller volcanic rocks and lost the trail in the process. The hike down to Camp lake took about 2.5 hours. We rested there for an hour and then hiked out. This was a great hike!

Note: I hiked this on 8.26.01
