Lewis River Trail

Trip report by: Jason R Thein

The Lewis River Trail is an awesome trail for waterfall lovers. The oppurtunity is there to see three waterfalls, lower falls, middle falls and the upper falls. The trail follows the Lewis River upsteam to each of these falls if you begin in the lower falls campground. It costs $12 a night to camp but its an awesome campsite. The park rangers are very helpful with all the trail information that you will need.

I personnally reccomend the lower river falls for anyone looking to do a little romantic persuasion. It seemed to work for the couple that I and my dog walked up on!

The trail is very well maintained and easy to follow, signs are posted the entire way. I DO NOT reccomend swimming the water is glacier fed and colder than a well diggers butt. For all the rock hounds there is plenty of lava and petrified wood to be found. I also found a very nice geode that was uncracked.

Do not miss this trail, it rocks!!! Happy trails and Peace, MTBGURU
