The trip to Glacier Meadows is a pretty nice hike. Do some reading before hand about the area- you will notice the abandoned mining equipment along the trail side from the early 20th Century copper mine.
The trail provides some great views up Mt Rainier and into the huge crevasses of Emmons Glacier. (And if you plan to summit Mt. Rainier via emmons like us, this is the way you go... )
Saw a million marmots along the way, and a handful of goats. All in all a nice little hike if you're just out for the morning.
