Boardman Lake

Trip report by:

"I would definitely recommend this trip to a friend."

Yeehaw! This is an absolutely wonderful afternoon hike that takes you through beautiful virgin forest to a peaceful alpine lake.

This hike isn't challenging -- only 0.8 miles one way with a 200' elevation gain -- and the whole trail is very pleasant. Within 30 yards of the trailhead, you'll pass by Evans Lake. Keep going -- this lake is marshy and is best admired from a distance. The trail continues past huge ancient cedars and sizable firs. When you reach Boardman Lake be sure to stop and lounge on the rock formations at the lake's edge.

Boardman Lake is warm enough to swim in. Honest.

Be sure to bring bug juice along. We ran into a few deer flies up there.

There are several uncrowded camp spots near the lake.

We made our trip on a mid-July afternoon.

There's no clear-cut to be seen during the entire hike.
